What items/goods require testing before Customs clearance?

Various categories of items require testing, in some cases mandatory, before their Customs clearance. For example-
Food products: As per conditions under Paragraph 16(5) of the Import Policy Order, 2015-2018, samples from consignments of milk, milk food, milk products, fish products, edible oil and other food items will have to be tested by the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission to check the radiation level.
However, under paragraph 16(16) of the Import Policy Order, this provision is not applicable in case of imports of rice, wheat, other food grains, and food products from SAARC, South-East Asia and Asia-Pacific Ocean countries.
RBD Palm Stearin: As per conditions under Paragraph 16(11) of the Import Policy Order, tests for determination of purity of RBD Palm Stearin will be carried out by the BSTI/BCSIR.
Raw cotton: As per conditions under paragraph 26(60) of the Import Policy Order, fumigation is mandatory in case of import of American cotton (i.e., raw cotton) produced and packed in the western hemisphere.
Standards issues: As per conditions under paragraph 26(28) of the Import Policy Order, 55 categories of products are subject standards control system as per Bangladesh Standard (BDS) specified by BSTI.
